  Spiritual vs. Religious

  i would like to know your thoughts on being spiritual as opposed to religious.

  do you think they are one in the same, do you think the wts brings you to spirituality?

  do you think the wts makes you a religious person?

  I do not think they are the same.

  I believe the WTS discourages spirituality, and makes organizational people.

  I belive there are spiritual people in & out of organized religion.

  Reluctant to tell others of JW past?

  has anyone felt uncomfortable telling others that they were once jws?

  i have shared this info with very few people in the 19 years since i left.

  i don't want to have to explain to someone who wouldn't understand anyway.

  I tell people when I have time to really let them know what it means to be a witness and how hard it is to leave.

  I don't want to leave people with the impression like yeah I was a Luthern , now I'm Baptist. or that if I appear normal now it was not always so.

  A very good video series on why the Jehovah's Witnesses are so illicitly corrupt of an organization

  this video series on you-tube is one of the better ones explaining the decisive corruption of the organization.

  and how people are treated by the organization when they are just simply seeking the truth.. its bit long winded at times but the speakers get directly to the point and makes things quite clear.. the people commenting are all ex-jws of course but they were very close to the higher levels of the organization.. have a watch and listen and see what you think for yourself.......hta.

  Didn't just forge the cards, people would get burnt with acid to give them a scar. Joan Cetnar's mother had a scar around her leg because the Dr. spilt too much and the acid ran.

  I didn't get the privilege of meeting Bill, but Joan has been a great help to me.

  Do you encourage the "Victim" mindset?

  some of us do it without even realising.

  we 'buy' into the victims drama and add our bits and pieces and aid them along that path.

  i see it on here quite a bit - wondered if anyones' given thought to it?.

  I'm a surviver of the WTBTS! The victims are still in or dead from their beliefs. I still at times need to talk/read about my/our experiences. It's part of the healing.

  Can I ask a question without offending Spanish members? Neighborhhood?

  i have some great neighbors...spanish on both sides of me, and down the street.

  their homes are very nice and the yards are kept up....but there is the strangest thing.

  they love to put big wooden posts in the middle of their beautiful lawns with the most hideous kmart type night lighting fixtures you have ever scene.

  We get neighbors who move in from many nationalities.

  If they come from the city they have security concerns they bring with them.

  Big lights & big dogs. The locals just have big guns , not kept in the yard or taken for walks.

  weird houses.

  give the 8 houses a look and let us know which one you would be willing to live in.. i wil only say house #1 looks cool enough to live in and if #5 is a series of connected rooms that could be interesting.

  #4 is a trip.
